Stewart Yetton suspended with immediate effect

News emerging tonight from Treyew Road will not be easy to digest.  Club talisman and leading goal scorer Stewart Yetton was apparently involved in a training ground incident last night with defender Ben Gerring.  It is believed that Gerring sustained a broken jaw and is awaiting treatment in hospital.

A statement issued tonight from Chairman Peter Masters read: "Following an internal incident it has been necessary to suspend Stewart Yetton with immediate effect.

"Given that there are only three games remaining, regretfully Stewart has played his last game for Truro City. Also Ben Gerring has sustained an injury and is unavailable tomorrow."

Futhermore, if the training ground bust-up was not enough, Yettsy is also rumoured to be joining Southern League outfit Weymouth Town this Summer.

Yettsy is the club's all-time record goal scorer with a massive 226 goals in 315 games.  After returning from a long injury lay off this season, Stewart has already scored three goals in three games and made at least one assist.  Single-handedly, he is one of the reasons for the club's late resurgence. This is indeed a very sad way to end a career at a club he clearly loved.  For sure, he will be sorely missed.

  1. I can't believe this is happening to our club. What next in this roller coaster soap opera. You will be missed Yetts and you are a hero to all of us.

  3. Things are going from bad to worse,at least heaney had compassion and committment to Truro City, nobody cant say he didnt put his hand in his own pocket for the good of the club.Does anyone know the credentials of running a football club that our current double act, masters and perryman, have between them.If this is their first forray into a football club then we may as all go forth and multiply now.

  4. Best wishes to Ben, hope you make a speedy recovery and you are back playing again soon. From what we all heard today at the ground the club had no other choice to make.

'Heaney put his hand in his own pocket for the good of the club' ? 'compassion'? - what a fucking disgraceful comments to make, whoever wrote that lot above has shit for brains and probably couldn't find their arse even if they used both hands, Heaney stole OUR ground from us, any money that scumbag ever had came from the equity he gained (robbed) by mortgaging OUR ground and we're all paying for it now - Truronians will never forget the crimes that walking piece of excrement commited against our community.

  5. The way the last poster articulated his/her self it looks like a case of the blind leading the blind.I for one and i know a few others have decided, will be following st.austell next season.A sad choice to have to make but as a former sea farer it was always taken that you abandoned a sinking ship, only the man at the helm went down with it.R.I.P. Truro F.C.

  7. This may look a cynical view but we need answers on the long term plans for our ground.Should Truro fold then the covenent to provide us with an alternative ground is worthless and Heaney gains.Should our messiah, namely Peter Masters, manage to wriggle himself through the cva,he needs to be open and transparent on exactly whom will be the owner of the alternative ground. As things stand it looks very much that an alternative ground would go to the shareholders of Truro, namely Masters and Perryman, leaving the club and fans in no better situation. Not a bad return for them on a negligble investment.O.K. they provided a £50k bond but thats all it was,a bond, not hard cash.If they get agreement at the cva,the terms agreed will be over the long as opposed short term, limiting their own,if any, funding of the club.Is the sprat being dangled to catch the big mackerel? If the alternative ground were to go to the shareholders then the uncertainty of the clubs future hangs over us again. Why would anyone want to take control of a club, having no previous affinity with Truro, with substantial debts and relegation on the horizon is beyond me.Cynical...maybe...but if it smells fishy, its because it usually is!

  9. it beggars belief that a lad ends up badly injured in hospital and people use this as an excuse to jump on the guys trying to clear up the mess others left for them at TCFC. All the best to Ben on his recovery
