City Alerts - Lee Hodges' view on the Hornchurch game

LEE'S VERDICT on AFC Hornchurch   1   Truro City   2:

"We rode our luck a bit in the first half, when the strong wind was against us and we just could not get out of our own half.   Hornchurch hit the woodwork several times, but then they had their best player sent off towards the end of that half.

"In the circumstances, I was happy with 0-0 at half-time and then we went ahead 22 seconds after the restart.  We still got a little bit sloppy and we once again failed to do what we've been failing to do all season, which is to put the game to bed.  We certainly had more than enough chances, but it wasn't to be.

But it was a nice result and a good reward for the all the hard work from the boys on a long day."

INJURY UPDATE:  JORDAN COPP taken off at half-time as precautionary measure with tight hamstring, apparent before kick-off.  Expected to be fit for Saturday.

REMAINING FIXTURES: Sat Apr 20, home to Farnborough, 3 pm;  Tues Apr 23, away to Eastleigh, 7.45 pm;  Sat Apr 27, away to Tonbridge Angels, 3pm.
