Final chance to shine for Truro City

Lee Hodges looks for a team confidence booster

Although Truro City do not begin their first season in Blue Square Bet South for ten days, boss Lee Hodges is treating Saturday's visit of Hednesford Town (3pm) as the start of their season.

The two teams meet in the annual challenge match between the Southern League premier division winners (City) and the Red Insure Cup winners (Hednesford).

And with a trophy at stake Hodges wants a confidence boosting win ahead of City's league opener at Chelmsford City on Saturday week. City have yet to win a pre-season game, losing five out of six, although to be fair they have been largely up against league opposition.

But Hodges wants an end to that on Saturday as he finalises his plans for the start of the season.
He said: "I am treating it as the start of the season. There is a trophy at stake and places up for grabs for the Chelmsford game.

"But it won't be the most disappointing thing in the world if we don't win, but it would be nice to get back to winning ways."

Saturday's selection will surely give plenty of clues to the team he sends out at Chelmsford seven days later.
Hodges revealed it was unlikely he would be adding to his squad before the start of the league campaign.
