Three days after their trip to Kent in the East of England, the Bluebirds were on their travels again, this time in the opposite direction to Truro City.
There a depleted Chippenham side fell to defeat in wet and windy Cornwall.
The Bluebirds were without several key players and finished the match with ten men after Andy Sandell was shown a straight red card a minute after coming off the bench.
The result saw Truro move up to second in the league whilst the Bluebirds dropped two places to fifteenth. Chippenham more than held their own in the opening forty five minutes, despite the home side winning the corner count 5-2.
However, after the interval the home side cranked up the pressure and scored the decisive goal eight minutes into the half.
On-loan Swindon Town youngster Scott Twine was instrumental in Chippenham's early attacks; he was off target with an early shot, before setting up Matt Smith who similarly failed to hit the target.
Just past the midway point a strong run by Smith saw his shot blocked by a Truro defender with appeals for hands being turned down by referee James Durson.
Truro’s main threats centred around Cody Cooke who also failed to hit the target with two early efforts.
Cooke also saw a shot blocked by the Bluebirds defence and his effort from the rebound went wide. Just before the interval Truro almost opened the scoring when a shot hit the bar.
The White Tigers scored the all important goal on fifty three minutes when half time substitute Andrew Neal, who had replaced Cooke, fired home from outside of the box.
Ten minutes from time Truro’s Noah Keats shot was blocked, whilst Chippenham’s misery was compounded two minutes from time when Sandell received a straight red card.
