Pre match message from the Chairman
Chairman’s Pre match Comments
Truro City FC vs Plymouth Argyle X1 Kick Off 7:45pm
Tonight we welcome our League neighbours Plymouth Argyle to Treyew Road, soon to be known as Fortress Treyew Road when the season proper gets underway as we need to win every Home game if we have any chance of fulfilling our ambition to get back in the Conference South.
Since our last match against Crewe Alexandra it’s been busy busy busy both on and of the Pitch. We have gained valuable experience from our first Match under Steve Massey and we know Steve and his support team are very pleased how the Players are progressing and equally we can say matters are going well off the Pitch. Both Philip and I agree that Treyew Road has a more positive feel about it and for once we both look forward to the match day.
At this point we would like to remind all our loyal supporters to invest in the 2013/14 by buying a season ticket as previously stated all income received from the sale of the season tickets will be going directly towards meeting the Players wage budget.
Back to this evening and in particular our new look team. We play in our new RED/BLACK away colours, those who attended the first meeting under our involvement back in October 2012 will remember that we promised the change and tonight we have delivered up on that promise.
Turning to the Players Wow! What a wealth of talent it would be hard to argue that we witnessed something a bit special in the first half against Crewe followed by a further impressive display in the second Steve now has the enviable task of selecting his playing eleven.
That said let us not forget it is a friendly match for the purpose of experimentation and preparation for the season so let us all give a warm welcome to our visitors and show them the respect they deserve and we remind all that Plymouth Argyle offered the hand of friendship in Truro City’s hour of need in recent times. Enjoy the night and a safe journey home.
Peter Masters
Chairman
