Truro City manager Lee Hodges has paid tribute to the supporters who have stuck by the team throughout a difficult season for the club.

The White Tigers were relegated after failing to beat Basingstoke Town on Bank Holiday Monday.

The club have struggled on and off the pitch since entering administration last August.

"We'd like to thank the fans who have been brilliant, they've kept the club going," Hodges told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"They've put their hands in their pockets and we're thankful for what they do, I take my hat off to them."

Truro host Eastbourne Borough on Saturday, hoping to reverse the 1-0 defeat they suffered in November.

"We played very well down there earlier in the season and I came away wondering how we'd been beaten," Hodges added.

"They're not out of the mire yet and are still fighting a relegation battle, so they'll be wanting the points as much as we will.

"We just want to pick up as many points as possible, the boys should be proud of what they've achieved to get as many points as we have given the circumstances.

"It would be nice to finish off with a few more wins though, especially at home in front of our fans."
