City Alerts - Hinckley and Bideford pre match updates

A confident, fit and enthusiastic 16 man squad leave Cornwall this afternoon on their second long road trip within the past few days.....this time the sat nav is programmed for Hinckley in Leicestershire. The team will stay overnight an hour from the ground.

Truro is strengthened by the return of first choice keeper Ollie Chenoweth in goal and Vice-captain Paul Kendall. The unfortunate injury to the impressive Warren Daw in Tuesday night’s draw to Bashley means a possible starting place for new signing Raiff Gwinnett.  Dave Trott, the talented defender signed from Newquay in the summer also comes into the squad as cover.

The team then have a mouth-watering game at Treyew Road against closest league and Devon rivals Bideford on Bank Holiday Monday KO 3pm.

Bideford, also unbeaten this season, have made quite a few impressive signings and a cracking game should be in order. Truro welcome back from suspension for this highly competitive and important game, two influential and talented players in Joe Broad and former Bideford favourite Matt Andrew. Both Broad and Andrew could well be set to make their league debuts for this season as the Cornish White Tigers look to continue their unbeaten start to the campaign.

Manager Steve Massey was in bullish mood after training on Thursday night commenting: "the lads are excited about the prospect of both travelling away to one of the best stadiums in the league (Hinckley) and the fact that the hours on the road gives everyone the chance to build on the excellent team spirit and bond developing in the squad."

Looking forward to Monday's big match against Bideford Massey continued: "Hopefully we will come into this game (Bideford) still unbeaten, full of confidence and eager to put on another display of passionate, exciting and of course winning football."

On another positive note, Truro City had the biggest crowd in the league last Saturday against Bedford. So let’s get behind the lads once more and not only show your support for the finest young talented footballers in Cornwall, but let them hear your voices also roaring the Tigers to victory.

It was left to Steve Massey again to sum up Monday's match: "It's going to be some game, just make sure you're there, the lads need and appreciate your fantastic support."
