Salisbury City 4 Truro City 3
TRURO suffered more stoppage time agony as they went down to the Blue Square Bet South leaders on Tuesday evening.
Goals from Barry Hayles, Kieffer Moore and Martin Watts looked to have earned Truro a share of the spoils, until the Wiltshire side broke away in added time following a City corner to snatch a cruel winner through Jamie White.
After Saturday's depressing 4-2 home defeat against Billericay Town, it looked a daunting trip for City and when they went 2-0 down to two early goals from former Torquay United striker Chris McPhee their prospects loooked bleak.
But on a cold night at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium, City pulled a goal back right on half time when Hayles took advantage of a mistake by home keeper Mark Scott.
And it got better for the visitors immediately after the restart when top scorer Kieffer Moore finished well for his 11th goal of the season.
Although Theo Lewis put Salisbury 3-2 up after 66 minutes Truro continued to believe and soon equalised with Moore setting up Watts who rifled the ball into the top corner.
But as at Welling in their previous away game, they could not hold on to what would have been a precious and unexpected point.
Now manager Lee Hodges must lift his shattered troops for Saturday's visit to second from bottom Sutton Utd who are 16 points clear of rock bottom Truro.
