The Saints led from the moment Ben Martin headed home Lee Chappell’s corner on 11 minutes and they never looked back.
Four second half goals, two for Louie Theophanous and two for Junior Morias, cemented the win that keeps City in the league play-off places.
Having won 5-1 away at Bishop’s Stortford in the last game, City were back among the goals early in this encounter.
Direct running from winger Shaun Lucien won a corner and from the right skipper Chappell lofted in a set-piece which central defender Martin rose highest to meet and plant past keeper Tom McHale.
Midway through the half there was concern for the hosts as striker Sam Merson clashed heads with Truro defender Arran Pugh.
The Saints man stayed down and was briefly put in the recovery position, before sitting and then being led off the field.
Truro offered little threat going forward, they did force three corners in succession before the break, but did not worry home keeper James Russell.
Four minutes into the second half the hosts doubled their advantage.
Left back Tom Bender drilled the ball into the box to the feet of Theophanous, he found space to turn and fire a low effort into the back of the net.
Saints should have been 3-0 ahead when they broke following a Truro corner.
Lucien charged forward from his own half with the ball, beat a defender, but from inside the Truro box pulled his shot wide.
A third did come though as Lucian crossed for Morias, his shot was parried by the keeper Tom McHale, the ball was collected by Theophanous who rifled in.
With 10 minutes to go Saints hit a fourth as substitute Morias side-stepped his way through the tiring visiting defence to net.
In added on time Morias completed the rout tapping into an empty net after Rhys Hoenes’ cross from the right beat McHale.
The three points see Ian Allinson’s St Albans side fourth in the table.
City face London Colney on Monday at Clarence Park in the Herts Senior Cup before they welcome Carlisle on Saturday in the FA Cup.

Truro City 2 Eastbourne Borough 2
It might have been better still, but after leading for more than half of the game through an early Mark Hughes goal, the Sports conceded twice after half-time and had to battle for their point through a late Kiran Khinda-John (pictured) equaliser.
Borough have now not lost since the 5-1 home defeat to Chelmsford City in late September, when both centre-backs Ian Simpemba and Brian Dutton were red-carded. Since then, with a run of three draws and two victories, the Sports have proved themselves grittier and harder to beat.
A trip to West Cornwall requires almost military planning. The Borough coach set out from Priory Lane at 8.30am on Friday morning, setting the satnav for the Bristol Rovers training ground, where the squad trained before heading south-west for an overnight stay. The 600-mile round trip was completed close to midnight on Saturday. Once a season is quite enough, but at least this was no fruitless journey.
Tommy Widdrington, with a strong squad to choose from, rang one or two changes, giving a start at wing-back to Alex Smith and introducing new loan signing Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain into midfield. Truro also had a well-known newcomer in the person of Chris Todd, until recently manager of National League Eastleigh, and a top player in his own right.
Oxlade-Chamberlain, fresh in from Portsmouth, was instrumental in Eastbourne's early lead, driving in a corner from the left which Mark Hughes turned in from close range. The White Tigers have been relatively toothless for most of this season, and their fans must have feared the worst. But although the Sports dominated most of the first half they failed to add to the 1-0 advantage.
And in a rocky spell after half-time, the visitors suddenly found themselves 2-1 down. In a 58th minute breakaway attack Rocky Neal found Louis Rooney, whose shot from the edge of the box deflected painfully over Lewis Carey to equalise. Then six minutes later Niall Thompson's low drive put the White Tigers ahead.
As Borough pressed strongly for an equaliser, Widdrington introduced Miguel Baptista and then top scorer Elliott Romain - back from suspension - to fire his side forward, and the clock was ticking.
But the Sports, who were plagued throughout last year's campaign by the conceding of late goals, appear to have reversed that habit this season, and once again they finished strongly, equalising on 83 minutes. Centre-backs typically score their goals with thumping headers from corner-kicks, but this time Kiran Khinda-John showed his finesse, checking in from the left with a stylish finish into the far corner. A fair result, and a happier journey home.
CITY: McHale; Lyttle, Todd, Smith, Richards; Thompson (Afful 84), Allen, Adelsbury, Brett (capt) (Panzer 90+3), Neal, Rooney.
Subs (not used): Fallon, Pugh, Bentley.
Yellow cards: Allen, Neal, Lyttle
EASTBOURNE BOROUGH Carey; Hare, Smith, Hughes, Simpemba, Khinda-John, Stone, Oxlade-Chamberlain (Baptista 77), Pinney (Romian 60), Taylor, McCallum.
Subs (not used): O'Reilly, Dutton, Horlock.
Goals: Hughes (13) 0-1, Rooney (58) 1-1, Thompson (65) 1-2, Khinda-John (84) 2-2

Truro City 0 Hampton & Richmond Borough 3
City suffered another chastening afternoon before their home fans, as they were outplayed by an impressive Hampton side. Beaten 5-0 last week, City were looking for a big improvement but finished a well beaten side to stay 17th in the National League South table and six points ahead of the relegation places.
In truth, the Middlesex visitors could well have won by much bigger margin, as they dominated vast swathes of the game creating numerous openings.
City had little answer to the clever play of the pacey Hampton side who showed just why they have done so well this season, especially on the road. This was their sixth away win out of seven and they looked a very strong outfit who will be heavily involved in the chase for a play-off place.
City welcomed back Rory Fallon and Louis Rooney from international duty and Jack Smith on loan, but Rocky Neal was missing at a family wedding, while River Allen was injured in training on Thursday. Cody cooke looks likely to be out for some time as he needs a hernia operation. New signing Chris Todd was on the bench.
In the first half, City were on the back foot for much of the time with Nicke Kabamba and Christian Jolley missing early headers.
City though stuck to their task well and when the Hampton breakthrough came after 24 minutes it was one of City's own making, as a misplaced pass gave Nicke Kabamba the chance to follow up to score with a low drive after the ball ran loose.
City's only real chance of the half came when Rooney fed Ryan Brett on the right of the area and his first time shot was pushed away for a corner by Aaron Howe.
Truro though looked like going in only 1-0 down at the break, but in stoppage time Kabamba chested down a cross from the right into the path of the outstanding Jamal Lowe at the far post and he calmly rounded McHale to make it 2-0 with an assured finish. It was a kick in the stomach for the home side
After the break, City battled to try and get back into the match and had a penalty appeal turned down, but it was the visitors who wrapped up the points after 55 minutes with Brendan Kiernan scoring from close range after some clever approach play.
To their credit, Truro kept working, with Niall Thompson having a shot saved, but it was Hampton who continued to create chances with Smith making a couple of good blocks and keeper Tom McHale also doing well.
City might have had of couple of penalties, but referee Kelly did them no favours. It was that kind of day for the home club who have now just won once at home all season.
They have another chance to improve on that dismiss record next week when Eastbourne Borough are the visitors to Treyew.
CITY: McHale; Bentley, Pugh (capt), Smith, Richards; Lyttle (Adelsbury 64), Knowles (Afful 64), Brett, Thompson; Fallon, Rooney. Subs (not used): Panzer, Todd, Basso.
Yellow cards: Knowles, Richards.
Hampton & Richmond Borough: Howe; Jelley, Casey, John, Gasson, Soloman (capt), Kiernan, Odamtey, Kabamba, Lowe, Jolley.
Subs (not used): Hicks, Hippolyte-Patrick, Collier, Kamara, Bishop.
Goals: Kabamba (25) 0-1, Lowe (45+2) 0-2, Kiernan (55) 0-3.

Truro City 0 – Dartford 5
Dartford travelled their furthest away match of the season at the weekend to play Truro City away in what would be a triumphant five goal win against the White Tigers.
Tony Burman and the team flew to Newquay airport on Saturday morning, with new loanee Goalkeeper Joe Taylor joining the squad after signing on Friday morning. Bailey Vose who was originally brought in as a replacement for Deren Ibrahim who is away on international duty, picked up an injury in Wednesday evening’s match against Cray Wanderers.
Tony switched up his team and formation once again from Wednesday’s team with Danny Harris back in the starting eleven, along with Captain Elliot Bradbrook, Duane Ofori-Acheampong and Andy Pugh. Lee Noble and Ronnie Vint took their place on the bench for the start of the game along with a returning from injury Tom Wynter.
The Darts dominated the game from the off, with the opening goal falling to Keaton Wood on the fourth minute after a Dartford corner in from Ryan Hayes.
A few more chances for Dartford from Ofori-Acheampong, Harris and Pugh were testing the Truro keeper and they had to work hard to keep The Darts at bay, scrapping many of the chances out of the box as quickly as they could.
Truro tried to equalise however Joe Taylor saved all attempts with ease. The second goal for Dartford came from another cross in by Hayes which was headed in by Pugh around the half hour mark. The Darts hadn’t finished there, with Pugh taking another shot which hit the post and rebounded out to Ofori-Acheampong who turned and shot straight into the goal to make it 0-3 ahead of half time.
The second half started a little better for Truro who seemed to emerge from their half time team talk ready for battle, but it wasn’t meant to be as Dartford pushed back and attacked well at every chance.
Ofori-Acheampong and Pugh had a couple of chances wide, and eventually the fourth came from Ofori-Acheampong with a great move from Hayes who knocked the ball to Harris who was clear after yet another overlapping run for Ofori-Acheampong to clear.
Burman made two substitutions at this point, taking off Ryan Hayes and Luke Wanadio and bringing on Lee Noble and Ellis Brown.
Truro again seemed to use the fourth goal to spur them on, and they tried their best to get one goal back but Tom Bonner and Tom Gardiner cleared most of their chances away with Taylor saving all attempts on goal.
The fifth and final goal of the game came from Alex Brown after Ellis Brown had gone around the goalkeeper into a wide area and Ellis knocked it to Alex who then put the ball into the net.
Burman made his final substitution of the game with Ofori-Acheampong coming off and Ronnie Vint taking his place. This meant that Harris moved up front with Pugh to make way for Vint at the back.
The final few minutes of the match left Truro with no further chances, and they accepted defeat with The Darts winning 0-5 and keeping a clean sheet.
Tony Burman said after the game “I’ve been asking the players to get into fourth and fifth gear for a longer duration during games and on Saturday they certainly did that. I felt all round the whole day was an excellent experience and to win in the way that we did was the icing on the cake. I’d like to thank all the supporters for their efforts in travelling such a long way for a football match.”
Truro City: McHale, Bentley, Richards, Knowles, Lyttle, Pugh, Brett, Thompson, Neal, Adelsbury, Allen
Subs: Afful, Basso, Panzer, Mitchell
Dartford: Taylor, Harris, Gardiner, Bonner, Wood, Hayes, A Brown, Bradbrook, Wanadio, Ofori-Acheampong, Pugh
